Deccan Gladiators: The game of cricket is evolving with time. That is why some different formats have been introduced to engage the fans with the game. The latest and most popular format of the game is the T10 format. This offers every team 10 overs to play in their entire innings. Well, the T10 league that will be played in the UAE has now become a re-owned league as compared to other existing T10 leagues.
Thus, we will now see the sixth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league very soon. The player draft for the upcoming edition concluded recently on September 26. One more team has joined for the upcoming season: The Morrisville Samp Army, making the upcoming season an 8-team affair. Hence, we will see more exciting and thrilling games. The upcoming edition is scheduled to start on November 23 and run until December 4, with a total of 34 games.
Deccan Gladiators
Deccan Gladiators made their T10 debut in 2019 and made it to the final of their maiden season. But they couldn’t get their hands on the title and lost the final. But then they completed their business in the last edition after winning the fifth season of the T10 league by beating Delhi Bulls in the final of the tournament. A business tycoon, Gaurav Grover, is the owner of the franchise. The Gladiators will defend their title in the upcoming edition against the other seven teams. Earlier, Pakistani speedster Wahab Riaz led the side, but he is not part of the current squad.
Deccan Gladiators 2022 Squad
The franchise hasn’t confirmed their captain for the upcoming season yet. But because they have picked the superstar all-rounder Andre Russell for their squad, he might be the one for the team. Apart from him, West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran has been picked in the team as the iconic player, so he is another option for captaincy. Well, the franchise has picked a total of 16 players for the next edition.
They retained Andre Russell, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Zahoor Khan, Odean Smith, and David Wiese. The duo of Wiese and Odean added 62 off just 24 against the Delhi Bulls in the final to help their team lift the trophy. English dangreous opener Jason Roy has also joined the team to give the team a great start. The franchise also added Mujeeb Ur Rahman along with Luke Wood, Will Smeed, Joshua Little, Sultan Ahmed, Zahir Khan, Curtis Campher, Taskin Ahmed, and Adeel Malik.
