Delhi Capitals made their start in the Indian Premier League with two back-to-back semi-finals in the first two seasons. But in the next nine seasons, from 2010 to 2018, they only reached the playoffs once. The best season for DC was in 2020 when they finished runners-up after losing to Mumbai Indians. However, despite not winning any seasons, DC has always gone for big names in the auction.
Over the years, the franchise has signed the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Virender Sehwag, David Warner, Gautam Gambhir, and many more superstars. And in doing so, they have also invested big bucks at the auction. Most recently, they spent INR 5.5 crore on uncapped Indian pacer Mukesh Kumar. So we will discuss the highest paid cricketers for DC in one season of the league.
