IPL 2022: The seventh match of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League will see CSK take on LSG. The match will kick off on Thursday, March 31 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, didn’t have the start that they would have hoped for and lost their first match against KKR by 6 wickets. On the other hand, the Lucknow Super Giants also started their first ever IPL encounter against Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets. It means both teams are coming off losses in their first matches, respectively.
One thing in common between the two teams in their first match was that their top-order didn’t do anything at all. And it was all from the middle-order that made some runs. Both teams will be eager to get their first win. It will make the match more interesting. So let’s check out the complete match details and possible XI for both teams.
IPL 2022: CSK vs LSG 7th Match Prediction and Preview
Chennai Super Kings

The four-time IPL champion had a bad day at the office against Kolkata Knight Riders. They didn’t look like the actual team we used to see. However, it can happen when your team is new, players are available, a new skipper, and many more. But now, one can expect the performance to go up against Lucknow in the next match. The top-order needs to step up and perform as they used to do. Ruturaj Gaikwad would be the key at the top of the order, along with Devon Conway.
Moeen Ali is back with the team. He will give an extra cushion to his team. Uthappa, Moeen, and Rayudu will play at Nos. 3, 4, and 5. Next up will be skipper Jadeja and former captain MS Dhoni. Batting looks strong; it’s just a matter of good innings. The bowling attack will be almost the same, just that Santner might make way for Moeen Ali. However, the fans must be happy to see Dhoni back in form.
Probably XI: Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja (C), MS Dhoni (Wk), Dwayne Bravo, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Tushar Deshpande, Adam Milne
Lucknow Super Giants

Playing their first ever IPL match, Lucknow looked a bit rusty. That’s the reason they lost their first match against Gujarat Titans. The match went to the last over and it was mainly due to some tactical errors that LSG lost the match. But KL Rahul and his boys need to learn from their mistakes and rectify them in the next match. Because that is the sign of a good team. However, they don’t have any other options because a loss in the second match will dent their chances of finishing in the top four.
Marcus Stoinis and Jason Holder have yet to join the camp, but their inclusion will certainly boost confidence. The last match saw two great knocks from the LSG camp. Deepak Hooda and debutant Ayush Badoni scored a half-century each and looked good during their stay. There is no change expected and the same XI will play against CSK as well. It is just that skipper KL Rahul and De Kock need to provide them with a good start.
Probably XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), KL Rahul (c), Evin Lewis, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Mohsin Khan, Ayush Badoni, Dushmantha Chameera, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi
IPL 2022: Chennai Super Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants Match, Pitch and Toss update
The pitch at the Braboune Stadium is a high-scoring surface with a short boundary on one side of the pitch. But it always offers something for everyone. Initially, the pacer will get the help and the spinner will come to play later in the game. But most importantly, batsmen can play their shots on bounce. Overall, it is a complete pitch that offers help to everyone. However, dew might come into play and bowlers will find it hard to grip the ball in the second innings. The toss will be crucial for both teams. And the team winning the toss will go for the chase. Toss might be the another factor for the win.
CSK vs LSG: Players to watch out for
KL Rahul got a peach of a delivery from Mohammed Shami that got him out for a golden duck. But it doesn’t mean that he is not good. He is the top batter in the LSG camp. Rahul is always in good batting form. And as a champion player, he will be back against CSK. The LSG skipper will be the player to watch out for. There would be no surprise if he ended with the most runs in the match.
Ravi Bishnoi didn’t have the game as he would have wanted against Gujarat. Although he didn’t give many runs, he was wicket-less in the match. But the leg-spinner is a great competitor in the T20, as he has proved time and time again. And with the CSK problem of playing against the leg-spinner, he could be more effective in the match.
Ruturaj Gaikwad is another player that has started the tournament with a duck. But, guess what, he did the same thing last season and ended up as the leading run-scorer.So he is the other player to watch out for from the CSK camp. And surely the Yellow Army would like him to score runs and provide them with a good start.
Dwayne Bravo was the pick of the bowlers for the CSK in the last match. He took three out of four KKR wickets that fell in the match. Bravo has been in good bowling form of late, and his experience makes him one of the best in the business. He is a street-smart cricketer and will be tough to pick for the LSG batters.
IPL 2022: Playing 11 team of the match Prediction
Wicket-keeper: Quinton De Kock (LSG), KL Rahul (LSG)
Batsmen: Robin Uthappa (CSK), Manish Paney (LSG), Deepak Hooda (LSG), Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK)
All-rounders: Moeen Ali (CSK), Ravindra Jadeja (CSK)
Bowlers: Dwayne Bravo (CSK), Adam Milne (CSK), Ravi Bishnoi (LSG)
Tips: KL Rahul will be the captain of the team. If Moeen Ali is back, then he can be the vice-captain, or else Ruturaj Gaikwad is the second option. The bowling department in Lucknow is a bit inexperienced, so CSK has an advantage. So we will back Chennai to win this match.
