IPL 2023: The Kolkata Knight Riders have been part of the Indian Premier League since the very first season in 2008. This team has had its moment and is one of three teams with two or more IPL titles. KKR won the tournament in 2012 and 2014, respectively. 4. Sunil Narine
Sunil Narine made his IPL debut in 2012 for KKR, and since then, he has become a core member of the team. Narine is the most economical bowler in the Indian Premier League. But over the seasons, KKR has also used him as the opener in the team. He has also done brilliantly with the bat in hand. It will depend on how KKR will utilise him, but he can surely be the player to look for. Narine has played 148 IPL games and has 152 wickets at an economy rate of 6.63. He has also scored 1025 runs at 162.70 with four half-centuries.
3. David Wiese
David Wiese is a vastly experienced cricketer who has played all across the world in numerous T20 leagues. And this will be his first appearance in the IPL in the upcoming season. Wiese has played in the PSL, CPL, BBL, and other leagues. He is a hard-hitting, genuine all-rounder. KKR signed him for his base price of INR 50 lakh. Wiese has played 39 T20Is in his international career and has 41 wickets to his name. He also has 453 runs scored at an average of 22.65 with a best of 66 not out.
2. Shakib Al Hasan
Speaking of some of the best modern-day genuine all-rounders, Shakib Al Hasan will surely top the chart. The Bangladesh skipper made his IPL debut in 2011 for KKR and played until the 2017 season. He was part of both the 2012 and 2014 IPL wins with the franchise, and now he is back with them again. In his IPL career, Shakib has played 71 games and has 63 wickets to his name at an economy rate of 7.43. He has also scored 793 runs at a strike rate of 124.48.
1. Andre Russell
Andre Russell joined the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014, and since then he has been part of the team. And he is also the core player of the team in both departments. There are not many in modern-day cricket who can match the skills Russell brings to the table. He was the best player for them in 2022 as well, with 335 runs and 17 wickets. Overall, Russell has taken 89 wickets in 93 games and scored 2035 runs at a strike rate of 177.88.
