1. Ahmed Shehzad (Quetta Gladiators) – 99 runs vs Karachi Kings
There have been only three batters with a score of 99 runs in a PSL inning. The first one was the veteran batter Ahmed Shehzad. He made it in a game between Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings in 2019 edition in Karachi. Batting first, Karachi posted a difficult total of 190/5 in the first inning. Babar Azam scored 56 off 46, while Iftikhar Ahmed played a cameo of 44 not out from 18 balls.
In reply, Quetta had a 68-run opening start. Ahmed Shehzad led the way for the victory for his team. He was looking good for a century but got out just one short of it. He made 99 off 57 balls with 8 fours and six maximums. Quetta reached 189/7 in 20 overs and Karachi won the game just by one run.
2. Ben Dunk (Lahore Qalandars) – 99 not out vs Karachi Kings
The second batter who scored 99 runs in a PSL inning was Ben Dunk. He scored it while chasing the target. It came in the 23rd game of the 2020 edition. Lahore Qalandars took on Karachi Kings in Lahore. The Qalandars won the toss and chose to bat second. Alex Hales scored an unbeaten fifty. He made a quick 80 not out from 48 balls, with six fours and five sixes.
Chadwick Walton played an unbeaten cameo of 45 off 20 to help Karachi reaching 187/5 in the first inning. Chasing the target, Lahore got a good start from skipper Sohail Akhtar, who made 68 not out off 46 balls. But on the other end, Ben Dunk smashed a 23-ball fifty and made an unbeaten 99 off 40 balls, with three fours and 12 sixes to help Lahore reach 190/2 in 19.1 overs and win.
3. Will Smeed (Quetta Gladiators) – 99 runs vs Peshawar Zalmi
The third batter with a 99-run score in a PSL inning was Will Smeed. He did it in 22nd game of the 2022 edition against Peshawar Zalmi in Lahore. It was Peshawar that batted first and made 185/7 in the first inning. Shoaib Malik made 58 off 41 while Hussain Talat scored 51 off 33 runs in the first inning. Ben Cutting ended with 36 off 14.
In response, Quetta lost wickets at regular intervals. But Will Smeed stuck solid on the other end. He got out on 99 runs with 60 balls, with 12 fours and three sixes. But as soon as he got out Quetta lost the way and reached only 161/8 in their chase. Peshawar won that game by 24 runs.
