Cricket Schedule 2014
The calendar year 2014 is going to be an epic one. There are some very important bilateral series to look forward to during 2014. The first one of them is obviously the Ashes. It will start towards the end of 2013 and will get over in the first month of 2014. Thereafter, India’s tour of New Zealand is another big bilateral event. India has rarely produced the goods in New Zealand. Yes, they had played well there in 2008-09, but, their overall numbers in that country are not encouraging. However, it’s not the only tough tour that India will go on next year. They will have to go to England as well where also they have struggled in recent times.

There are bilateral series of other countries as well which are bound to be exciting. Australia touring South Africa in February-March, England touring West Indies during the same time, Sri Lanka touring England in May-June and then South Africa touring Australia towards the end of the year are some of the bilateral events which are desperately being awaited by the cricket lovers.

In 2014, there will be a few multi-team events as well. One of them will take place in the first quarter of the year. It’s Asia Cup in which all the top subcontinent teams will be taking part. Just a few days after that, there will be another ICC event i.e. the T20 World Cup which will be hosted by Bangladesh. Then, the largest cricket event of the year i.e. the Indian Premier League will take place, but, not in India this time around. Because of the elections in India next year, the tournament has been shifted to South Africa. This is the second occasion that the Indian Premier League is going to be hosted by South Africa. They had hosted this tournament in 2009 as well. The fourth and the last multi-team event of 2014 i.e. the Champions League will be organized in September.
