The Sharjah Cricket Association (SCA) Stadium is located in the city of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Built in 1982, the SCA stadium was best known as a venue for hosting India – Pakistan matches. Although, other teams have played on this ground too, the India – Pakistan rivalries that were witnessed on this ground somehow lives on. Currently the SCA stadium has a capacity of 27,000.

The SCA stadium was initially built to host ODIs. From 1984 to 2003, the ground hosted as many as 198 ODIs. The first ODI on this ground was played in the year 1984 between Pakistan & Sri Lanka. The ground was accredited tesat status much later & the first test match was played in the year 2002 between Pakistan & West Indies. Currently, this ground is used by the Afghanistan National Cricket Team as their home ground owing to the turmoil that is currently going on in that country.

Due to the match-fixing scandal that emerged in late 1990s, the star appeal of Sharjah started to wane. In 2001, Indian Government banned its team from playing there. Till now, SCA stadium hasn't recovered from that blow.
