Built in the year 1993, the stadium has a capacity of 30,000 spectators. It is owned & managed by the Punjab Cricket Association. The Punjab State cricket team & the IPL team Kings XI Punjab use this stadium as their home venue.

This stadium is one of the largest cricket grounds in India with a lush outfield.
