R. Premadasa Stadium is a cricket stadium located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is one of the main cricket stadiums in Sri Lanka & used as venue for both first-class & international matches every season. Prior to June, 1994 it was known as Khettarama Cricket Stadium. Built in 1986, the Premadasa stadium has a capacity of 35,000. The Sri Lankan cricket board (Sri Lanka Cricket) is the owner & operator of this stadium.

The first test match on this ground was played in 1992 between Sri Lanka & Australia. The first ODI was played much earlier in 1986 between Sri Lanka & Pakistan. In 2009 the ground saw its first T20 match which was played between Sri Lanka & India. This is the ground where the highest ever test total of 952 was scored in a match between India & Sri Lanka. Roshan Mahanama scored 240 & Sanath Jayasuriya scored 340 to make the highest second wicket partnership record in test cricket of 576.
