M Chinnaswamy stadium is a dedicated cricket stadium located in Bangalore, India. It is a huge stadium with a capacity of more than 55,000 spectators. Built in the year 1969, the Chinnaswamy stadium is owned by the Government of Karnataka. The stadium regularly hosts all forms of cricket matches – both first-class & international.

The Chinnaswamy stadium had its first test match in the year 1974 which was played between India & England. The first ODI on this ground was played in 1982 between India & Sri Lanka. This is the ground where West Indian batting legend Viv Richards made his test debut. The West Indians went on to win that match by 256 runs. Another West Indian batting great made his debut in that match & that was Gordon Greenidge. In 1996, floodlights were installed on this ground in 1996 because of which the ground now is capable of hosting D/N matches.
