Kochi Tuskers Kerala is one of the two latest additions to IPL in the 2011 season. The team’s creation was surrounded in allegations of corruption & nepotism. But in the end, the team was formed successfully. The team is owned by a consortium of entrepreneurs & the consortium is called Kochi Cricket Privet Ltd. Home venue of the team is the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, Kerala.

Ex-Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardena is the captain of the team & Geoff Lawson is the coach. Other notable players playing for the team are Brad Hodge, VVS Laxman, Owais Shah, Brendon McCullum, Parthiv Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Mutthiah Murlidharan, Romesh Pawar, RP Singh etc.

The team has only played in the 2011 season of the IPL & in that, they won 6 out of their 14 matches, failing to cross the group stage. The team finished 8th in the overall points table.
