Sri Lanka vs England 2011 Itinerary
Sri Lanka tour of England 2011 Schedule
England will host three test, one Twenty and five One Day International matches against Sri Lanka. The fixtures and schedule of Sri Lanka vs England has been announced and it would be quiet interesting to see how the Sri Lanka manages to fight here after playing the ICC Cricket World Cup. Tour Itinerary will begin with the first test match to be played at Cardiff's Sophia Garden in England. London's Lords will host the second test match between Eng vs SL on June 3, 2011. Third test match will be played at Southampton. Sri Lanka will also play an only T20 match against England at Bristol. Next series for England will be against India who will also tour them just after Sri Lanka returns back to their home.

Going by the ratings of the two teams is irrelevant in ODIs because Srilanka have outpeformed England and 12 other teams in the recent World Cup where they finished as the runners up. Speaking from a purely cricketing point of view, Sri Lanka is the most balanced outfit in World cricket with an exceptional top order, a middle order growing in confidence with every match and a steady allrounder in the form of Matthews. Their spin attack still has the sting even after the retirement of the legendary Muralitharan with competitors like Mendis and Herath. And they have some steady bowlers in the form of Thisara Perera and Nuwan Kulasekara and they have Malinga who is the most destructive bowler in the world. With the stepping down of Sangakkara as captain, the top job in Sri Lankan cricket will go to either Dilshan or Matthews and the team will have competent mentors like Jayawardine and Sangakkara himself playing alongside them.

England, well has been very England. They have been unpredictable throughout the world cup and in previous ODI fixtures and they would very much rely on the form of their captain Andrew Strauss and top batters Kevin Pietersen , Eoin Morgon and Jonathan Trott. Their bowling looks steady with Anderson, Broad and Bresnan who can  be a handful in the swing friendly conditions at home. England will be looking to take full advantage of the conditions which the Sri Lankans historically do not find very comfortable. Their best chance in both Tests and ODIs will be to negate the threat of Malinga and Mendis and to make sure they can keep the veterans Jayawardene and Sangakkara quiet. The series has the makings of an enthralling contest.
In the vs match, it would be interesting to know who will be top spinner on this cricket pitch with interesting fight between cricket bat and cricket ball in Sri Lanka vs England 2011.
