According to Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh’s entry into the Asia Cup finals is one of the biggest achievements that the country has experienced for quite a long time. Fresh after defeating Sri Lanka and making route for India’s exit, Rahim said that he is quite confident that his team will be able to cross the final hurdle and usurp Pakistan to create another history. All the same, Mushfiqur did not forget to thank the overwhelming support that Bangladesh received from the home crowd. He said that the support of the home crowd is a great boost for the Bangladesh cricket team.

Bangladesh had already earned the reputation of being giant killer. For quite a number of times, Bangladesh had surprised the cricket giants like Pakistan, India, Australia and even New Zealand. The latest to join this bandwagon is Sri Lanka who was humbled by Bangladesh on Tuesday at Mirpur. Defeating the World Cup champions and the World Cup runners up by country like Bangladesh in a time span of 4 days cannot be described as fluke anymore. Rahim went on to say that the Asia Cup 2012 has been a great tournament for Bangladesh. Even in critical situations there are five to six players contributing with runs or wickets, thus leading the team to victory. Rahim is hopeful of continuing their match winning performances even in the finals against Pakistan.

Since 2011, Bangladesh Cricket Team has gone through many changes. Aussie Stuart Law is now in charge of Bangladesh Cricket Team and Mushfiqur Rahim has been made the skipper in place of the all rounder Shakib-al-Hasan. Mahmudullah has been made the vice captain of the team. Till now, the Bangladesh Cricket Team has shown determination and courage under the captaincy of Rahim. The supporters of Bangladesh are hopeful that their team goes on to show more team effort in their game against Pakistan and also in the near future.
