Rahul Dravid had proved his mettle in every domain of cricketing throughout his nearly two decade long international cricket career. However, when he took hold of Rajasthan Royals reigns as the captain during 6th Indian Premier League, sceptics were still round the corner. Nevertheless, like he has always done in his career, he let his game do the talking and despite of his team being hit by one of the worst cricketing scandals in the history of Indian cricket, he led Rajasthan Royals to third position in IPL6 points table, their best position after winning the first IPL.

This provided Rajasthan Royals direct qualification in 2013 Champions League. Rahul Dravid led team has continued their good run, only to be matched by M S Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings, and reached 2013 Champions League semi final after registering their third consecutive win in the group stages. Rajasthan Royals gave a clinical performance to root out Australian champs Perth Scorchers in a comprehensive manner.

After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals opted to bowl first. After Pravin Tambe’s 4 wickets howl the other day, it was time for Caribbean all rounder Kevin Cooper to shine with the ball. Led by Kevin Cooper’s 4 wickets against just 18 runs in 4 over, Rajasthan Royals restricted Perth Scorchers for just 120 runs. Even though Rahul Dravid lost his wicket cheaply, Rahane and Samson carried their bat after 120 runs unbeaten partnership with register victory by 9 wickets. Kevin Cooper was named Man of the Match.
