After shunning all the scepticism around the Pakistan tour of Zimbabwe when the series got on to the floor, it was taken as a fact that Pakistan would roll over the resistance from the home side. This conviction materialised with sheer ease as Pakistan won the two match T20 International series in a comprehensive manner. However, the first match of the One Day International series brought a shocking outcome and a welcome surprise for the crowd supporting the home side when Zimbabwe won the first ODI taking a lead in the 3 match ODI series.

However, Pakistan overpowered the hosts during the second ODI as they reached home with a comprehensive margin of 90 runs. Even then, Zimbabwe had the chance to take the ODI series home by making the consequence of the third ODI in their favour. However, Pakistan ensured that nothing of this sought happened as they crushed Zimbabwe in the final ODI by a mammoth margin of 108 runs. After winning the toss, Zimbabwe had put Pakistan to bat.

The batting order of Pakistan contributed evenly to reach a total of 260 runs. Pakistan captain Misbah ul Haq top scored with his 67. Even though this total of Pakistan was considerably smaller than their second ODI’s score of 299, their victory margin was bigger as their bowlers managed to fold the Zimbabwe innings just for 152 runs. Misbah received the winning trophy along with Man of the Match for his 67 runs and two run out contributions.
