India aims to win series 4-1 against Sri Lanka
After taking an unbeatable lead of 3-1 in the five-ODI match series against Sri Lanka in their backyard, India is now looking to completely outdo their Asian neighbors by wining the fifth and last ODI of the series.
Indians have made a great mark in the series, making a come back after a long break. Apart from the second ODI, which they lost by nine wickets, the Men in Blue have shown great dominance and team strength winning the other three matches quite comfortably. No doubt, MS Dhoni's men will try their best to end the ODI series on a winning note.
Sri Lankans, on the other hand, have been quite inconsistent in the series and have shown no signs of resistance up till now. This will be a matter of spirit for them to put in their best and try and win the last ODI, thereby ending the series with a respectable score of 3-2.
Sri Lanka's skipper Mahela Jayawardene accepted the fact that they have not played good cricket against the world champions and their inconsistency has been the reason behind their series loss. It would not be wrong to say that it has been a sorry state for the home side, losing out so badly in their own backyard. Expect the brilliant knock of 133 runs in the first ODI by Kumara Sangakkara, the top order of the hosts has just not fired. Players like T. Dilshan have disappointed the home fans big time. If India wins the fifth ODI, they will be at par with the mighty Aussies in the ICC Rankings for teams, but will be at number 2 spot.
The fifth ODI will be played on Saturday at 2:30 PM, IST.
